Artwork for Screen Printing
The better the artwork, the better the screen printed or silk
screened image.
Recommended graphic formats for screen printing is 300 - 600
dpi (dots per inch) vector format files. Vector files are
created in Adobe Illustrator (ver. 9 or earlier) & Corel
Draw (ver. 10 or earlier). Other acceptable artwork formats
is EPS, TIFF, Adobe Photoshop (PSP) and BMP.
All fonts should be converted to curves and images should
be embedded.
Strokes less than 1 pt. thick do not print well. The recommended
thickness is 1.5 pt. or higher.
We can screen print from JPG, MS Word, Powerpoint, Excel,
MS Publisher and QuarkExpress files, but it will require us
to redraw the artwork and an artwork hourly rate will be charged.
PDF file can sometimes be used if it was created in Adobe
Illustrator with fonts converted to outlines and placed files
embedded.

Screen Print Pricing
The price for our screen printing and silk screening services
are based on the number of colors and quantity being printed,
and the type of process needed.
White shirts are the most economical to silk screen, with
gray shirts costing less than colored shirts. Mesh and nylon
require a different process and the price to silk screen them
is a bit higher. Dark items require a white wash first, so
colors will stay true, and are flashed - each color is dried
before the next color is applied.
There is a one-time setup fee for all screen printing orders.
The setup is based on the number of colors in the design and
the complexity of the artwork involved.
Why use screen printing?
Screenprinting offers a good alternative for larger designs
which would be too expensive to embroider. Using silk screening
on promotional products or garments, provides an affordable
sales and marketing tool.
